The above pictures represent a type of pottery from Japan called Kintsukuroi. Kintsukuroi means "to repair with gold." It's the art of repairing broken or cracked pottery with gold or silver lacquer. The piece is held to be more beautiful for having been broken. Kintsukuroi is a powerful life metaphor.
